SC.912.TI.2.8- Evaluate the consequences of misrepresenting digital work as your own. This standard teaches students about the concept of plagiarism and how serious of an offense academic dishonesty can be. It also goes into the legal aspects of copyright infringement and I feel that will show students that not only is plagiarism cheating, it is also illegal. I feel prepared to teach my students to create their own works and how to properly credit any outside sources they may use in their works. I'll definitely use this site in the future for more learning-related matters.
Playing around with the CPALMS resources, I can see just how useful it'll be in the future. I'm able to find hundreds of lesson plans relating to all sorts of subjects. I searched for English-specific lesson plans and came across multiple relating to Fahrenheit 451, The Odyssey and other epic poems and how they can relate to modern day America. I'll definitely use these in the future, just in case I need guidelines on how to properly teach a specific book.
Google searching as an educator is extremely important because the Internet can provide resources from fellow teachers on how to effectively teach a course. Teaching a course with no outside sources seems next to impossible, so Google can be a very useful tool to better your skills as a teacher. The most useful skill related to Google searching that I will continue to use is how to filter by sites ending in .edu or results that are pdf documents or just using Google Advanced Search. This would make searching for credible sources much easier rather than having to manually go through dozens of sites and having to figure out which ones are credible.
